Vicki Watson Founder of Twa Acres Hypnotherapy Training Centre

Founder of the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists & of the Original Twa Acres Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Centre.

The original Twa Acres Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Centre was founded by Vicki Watson in 1978 with the Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Course, as a natural progression, coming into existence in 1989.

Vicki had spent over twenty years in general and intensive care nursing as a registered general nurse, before finally deciding to make her long standing involvement in hypnotherapy known and, having completed a training course in England, began practicing as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.

Many years previously as a young student nurse Vicki was privileged to witness hypnosis being instrumental in helping save a young girl's life. This triggered her interest in the subject and encouraged extensive study into the phenomena of hypnosis as a very effective treatment modality.

Over the years Vicki has unrelentingly promoted hypnotherapy for the superbly influential tool that it is in the fight against illness and operated a highly successful hypnotherapy practice for several decades. She was often called upon to give workshops and to lecture groups within the health service and other related bodies.

Interest in hypnotherapy and its uses is such that, apart from being interviewed on local and national Radio & Television, Vicki has been guest speaker at Dundee University Medical Society Annual Symposium and Abertay University. She also had a number of articles on hypnotherapy published in various magazines including Scottish Nurse.

She lectured on a regular basis to student nurses at the University of Dundee School of Nursing & Midwifery and to Perth Palliative Care Course nurses on the role hypnosis can play in the control of chronic pain in the Health Service.

In 1989, due to an increasing demand from the general public for hypnotherapy, Vicki and her husband Neil decided that, if they were to see the calibre of hypnotherapists they desired, they must set up their own training school thus, the original Twa Acres Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Centre came into being and became the then official Training School for the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists (NSPH).

In 2001 Vicki was awarded a Life Fellowship of the National Council of Psychotherapists. This prestigious award was given in recognition of Vicki's long and unstinting dedication to the field of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.

Also in 2001 Vicki took the decision to step down from the forefront of training full time though she continues to maintain an active role in ensuring that the highest standards are adhered to through the approved Clinical Hypnotherapy Training School & Postgraduate Hypnotherapy Training Centres of the NSPH.

As a recognised and well-respected authority on Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Training, Vicki remains on the NSPH Advisory Council and is also on the board of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

Although Twa Acres HTC is no longer recognised as an acceptable training organisation for admission to the NSPH, the Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Course, in its original form, continues to go from strength to strength under the tutelage of Kate Scott BA (Hons), MNSPH, SQHP, MNCP & John McEwen MNSPH, SQHP, MNCP.
